On the de Rham and p-adic realizations of the Elliptic Polylogarithm for CM elliptic curves

In this paper, we give an explicit description of the de Rham and p-adic polylogarithms for elliptic curves using the Kronecker theta function. We prove in particular that when the elliptic curve has complex multiplication and good reduction at p, then the specializations to torsion points of the p-adic elliptic polylogarithm are related to p-adic Eisenstein-Kronecker numbers, proving a p-adic analogue of the result of Beilinson and Levin expressing the complex elliptic polylogarithm in terms of Eisenstein-Kronecker-Lerch series. Our result is valid even if the elliptic curve has supersingular reduction at p.Comment: 61 pages, v2. Sections concerning the Hodge realization was moved to the appendi

Influence of slip flow at fluid-solid interface upon permeability of natural rock

The flows involving CO2 sequestration encounters pores of very small size usually in micro-meter range. At this scale, various small-scale flow effects associated with the fluid-solid interaction governs the hydrological properties. Hence, realizing the importance of appropriate boundary condition when dealing with the small scale flow is of extreme importance. One such effect is the occurrence of slip at the fluid-solid interface. The implementation of slip boundary condition, in lattice Boltzmann framework, is discussed in the present study. The effect of slippage on the bulk properties is obtained in channel flow using the slip boundary condition. Further, a homogeneous porous media is considered to show the effect of slip flow on bulk as well as local flow properties

Impact of the kinetic boundary condition on porous media flow in the lattice Boltzmann formulation

    Get PDF
To emphasize the importance of the kinetic boundary condition for micro- to nanoscale flow, we present an ad hoc kinetic boundary condition suitable for torturous geological porous media. We found that the kinetic boundary condition is one of the essential features which should be supplemented to the standard lattice Boltzmann scheme in order to obtain accurate continuum observables. The claim is validated using a channel flow setup by showing the agreement of mass flux with analytical value. Further, using a homogeneous porous structure, the importance of the kinetic boundary condition is shown by comparing the permeability correction factor with the analytical value. Finally, the proposed alternate to the kinetic boundary condition is validated by showing its capability to capture the basic feature of the kinetic boundary condition
